Yamaha Corporation of America is looking for a National Sales Director to lead and oversee all sales activities in our institutional sales channel. We are looking for an exceptional strategic leader, one who is a visionary and who will lead and elevate our institutional sales team into successful growth focusing on post-secondary education and performing arts conservatories.

Here’s What You’ll Do:

·       Create, plan, and execute a nation-wide institutional sales strategy resulting in a significant increase in Yamaha’s market share within the post-secondary community

·       Effectively lead, develop and inspire an institutional sales team

·       Ensure sales objectives are met

·       Develop and maintain institutional partnerships and relationships with schools, colleges, centers of influence and other key influencers in the academic community such as technicians and potential financial donors for the school

·       Evaluate plan for staff visits and outreach to dealer networks and institutions to provide support to achieve sales objectives

·       Manage sales compensation plans and department budgets

·       Strategize and coordinate with sales team members across multiple channels and disciplines to meet institution needs

·       Advise marketing and product development on product trends and features from the academic community

·       Ensure team is effectively coordinating with Sales Enablement and Learning and Development to ensure channel partners are trained appropriately

·       Assist sales channel partners in various business areas such as: fleet analysis, fundraising, selection and training of dealer’s staff

·       Oversee and approve all channel partner agreements for the department

·       Use CRM tool to oversee appropriate tracking and reporting of important departmental, institution and channel partner activities

·       Manage Institution of Excellence program and other national sponsorship programs to ensure Yamaha is receiving maximum value and educational partners are receiving appropriate levels of support

·       Facilitate Educational Summits to engage with top-level music educators and administrators throughout the country

·       Promote Yamaha brand awareness in post-secondary institutions through Discover Yamaha presentations

·       Perform other duties and participate in projects as needed

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table

·       Bachelor’s degree related to Business, Education or performance

·       10 years related experience

·       5+ years proven sales leadership experience managing and growing teams

·       A leadership style that is motivational, influential, inclusive, respectful and holds staff accountable

·       Proven experience in facilitating progressive change

·       Advanced knowledge of selling techniques

·       Exceptional presentation abilities

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·       Understanding of higher education (jargon, philosophy, etc.)

·       Proficient knowledge of computers and applications (Microsoft Office Suite along with presentation software and applicable others)

·       Able to travel 25% or more (U.S., Japan and Europe)

·       Appreciate and understand high-level music performance, composition, technology, etc.

Preferred

·       Post-secondary institutional sales

·       Masters Degree

·       Salesforce CRM

·       Familiarity with Yamaha’s product lines
